Do I need any experience to join the tufting workshop or silver ring workshop?
Not at all! Whether it’s tufting or making silver rings, we’ll guide you through the entire process. No prior experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and creativity!
What’s included in the workshop fee?
In the Tufting Workshop, your fee covers a tufting frame, up to 91 yarn colours, a tufting gun, backing fabric, and all necessary tools. You’ll receive step-by-step guidance and take home your finished rug.
For the Silver Ring Workshop, the fee includes 5g of silver clay, a gemstone, all tools, and materials for shaping, polishing, and finishing your ring. You’ll also learn firing and polishing techniques, and your finished ring will be packaged in a beautiful ring box and paper bag.
Can I bring my own design or pattern?
Absolutely! For the Tufting Workshop, we encourage you to bring any design or pattern that inspires you. For the best experience, we recommend sending us your design before the workshop. This allows us to provide advice and help you make any necessary modifications to ensure your design turns out just right.
For the Silver Ring Workshop, no design is needed—just bring your creativity, and we’ll guide you through the process!
What are some tips for choosing a graphic or design for tufting?
Start Simple: If you’re new to tufting, begin with a simple design. Basic shapes and patterns are easier to execute and will help you get comfortable with the technique.
Contrast and Color: Choose designs with good contrast between the background and foreground. This helps the design stand out and ensures your colors pop.
Size and Scale: Consider the size of your tufting frame when selecting a design. Ensure the design fits well within the frame and isn’t too detailed or complex for the size of the rug.
Bold Lines and Shapes: Designs with bold lines and clear shapes translate well into tufting. Intricate details might be challenging to achieve, especially for beginners.
Use a Template: Create or find a template for your design. This can be a simple sketch or a digital image that you can print and transfer onto your tufting frame.
What should I wear to the workshop?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a bit messy. Although tufting isn’t particularly messy, it’s always a good idea to dress comfortably for a creative session. Also, please wear closed-toe shoes for safety.
What if I can’t finish my rug within the workshop hours?
If your project goes beyond the 3-hour limit for a Medium Rug or the 4-hour limit for a Large Rug, you can book an additional session with our staff to complete it. No worries—we’re happy to accommodate you so you can finish your masterpiece at your own pace!
What’s your cancellation and refund policy?
If you need to cancel, please provide at least 3 business days’ notice. Refunds will be processed within 7 working days.
Kindly note that deposits are non-refundable for cancellations made with less than 3 business days’ notice.
